A modular folding combo set with 100+ combinations.

Mix and match all 16 halves and design your own set. If you end up not liking a pairing, print more or swap the halves for a new configuration! All halves have been fully tested but not all pairs.

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Don't cut the indexing tabs yet.
  2. Insert a link in the hinge slot, jam a snippet of filament into the hinge axis, then loosely cut the filament. Repeat for the second half, joining the two.
  3. Close the combo and precisely flush-cut the filament. Play-test a ball through the both double openings.
  4. Decide which indexing tabs to cut, matching them with their counterparts. Recommended tile design suggests not connecting top edge openings to other top edges. Cut a few or cut them all; it's your set after all!
  5. Cross-reference previously assembled Double Lanes for magnet polarity. If it's the first assembly, glue in two 6x2mm magnets with one reversed. Reference these magnets for all future Double Lanes. This way you can swap one-half with any other later if you want to reconfigure. Allow for glue dry time before closing the Combo.

Remixing Tips: I provided a blank Double Lane tile for other makers to create with. Double Lane openings are 8mm from "center of tile" to "center of double path's". In testing, I found isolated paths led to the most unique game-play, but feel free to experiment!
