Origami table lamp design update
Origami table lamp design update

ORIGAMI print-in-place

This update was long due.
The original design of the Origami lamp was causing some troubles.
There were some thickness irregularities due to the tricky geometry of the lamp.

Problem solved with this new version that is a "full volume" all over.
Even the triangular legs at the bottom have volume, so the outter shell and the inner shell of the lamp join at the very top of the lamp, and at the very bottom tip of the triangular legs.
Because of this, The walls will have the exact same thickness all over since you can now just set the thickness of the perimeter walls any way you want in your slicer.
The lamp on the product pictures was printed with 2 perimeter walls, printed with a 0.4mm nozzle, and of course 0% infill all over.
It makes for a much much much cleaner print, and quite a sturdy one.

Other perk of this new design, you won't need a stand anymore.
It's 100% free-standing.
The inner shell narrows in the middle into a mounting neck for your light bulb sockets.
The original neck size works for E26 / E27 sockets.
To mount E14 sockets, I provided an STL for little adapter discs.
Print 2 of those, place one above and one below the mounting neck, and mount your E14 socket into it.

Finally, the lamp now comes in 2 sizes.
The regular size has a height of 250mm.
And the smaller size is 209mm, to accomodate smaller printers.

That's it for the update!

Happy printing!

Charles
